The Book That’s Hard To Put Down

by The Gideons International on March 1, 2013

While visiting a Gideon camp in Thailand, I was given the opportunity to speak at a church. During my presentation, I asked if anyone in the congregation came to know the Lord through Scriptures distributed by The Gideons International.  Two ladies enthusiastically raised their hands. After the service, I approached the two women and we talked–their names were Sarisa and Boonjit.

As Boonjit shared her testimony, a big smile came across her face. She said that she had received a New Testament from The Gideons International, but another three years passed before she decided to pick it up and read it. However, once she did, she could not put it down.

She finished the whole New Testament in one sitting, and then prayed to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior.  Today she is walking closely with the Lord and serving Him. To God be the glory.

Wow! This is very encouraging to me. My dear wife is a Thai and serves in the Auxiliary alongside me. The Gideon distributions in Thailand are very important to the cause of Christ. Please keep “sending the Light” to the Thai people.
